Build a quote and understand the price

An interactive quoting system built for a specialty coffee roastery.

Configure an order, adjust pricing rules, see how every price is calculated and generate a customer-ready PDF quote.

The problem

Spreadsheets work until pricing starts depending on materials, labor, margins, discounts, currencies and other changing variables. Rules get buried in formulas, and a quote already sent can change by accident when prices are updated.

What it does

Configure an order
Pick the coffee, roast, grind, bag size, quantity and currency. The price updates instantly.
See where the price comes from
Every cost, from green coffee and labor to overhead and margin, is visible in the breakdown.
Change the rules
Costs, labor rates, margins and exchange rates live in one place instead of across spreadsheet formulas.
Send the quote
Generate a PDF ready for the customer. Saved quotes keep their prices even when the rules change later.

Built for reliability

The pricing logic is kept separate from the interface. Each rule, from green coffee and labor to packaging, margin and currency, lives in its own module covered by automated tests, so pricing can change without breaking existing calculations.

Amounts are calculated with decimal arithmetic, so there are no floating point rounding errors. Each saved quote stores a frozen copy of the settings and the price breakdown used, so it never changes after the fact.
